INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - The Election Supervisory Body said the status of reporting the alleged political dowry of Sandiaga Uno to PAN and PKS reported by the United Indonesia Federation could not be continued.

"This is what we have to say that based on the report there is not enough evidence to continue the report," he said in Jakarta on Friday (08/31/2018).

He said, the decision taken through the plenary meeting on Thursday (8/30) night was in accordance with the prevailing mechanism and referred to the Laws and Regulations of Bawaslu No7 / 2018.

One of the obstacles in proving the case was Andi Arief who did not fulfill the Bawaslu's summons. Even though the report was based on Andi Arif's statement through social media and the media.

In accordance with the regulation of Perbawaslu no. 7/208, Bawaslu can only call twice. In addition, as Bawaslu also cannot force witnesses to attend, he said.

Chairman of Bawaslu Abhan, as quoted from the official website of Bawaslu, Friday (08/31/2018), said reports of alleged violations of the awarding of the process of nominating the President and Vice President could not be proven legally. This is because the statement of the reporter and other witnesses do not have the power of proof.

Abhan said that after the results of Bawaslu's review of reports of alleged violations of reward payments in the Nomination of President and Vice-President in the 2019 Election, no alleged types of election violations were violated by the reported party. This statement was delivered after the plenary meeting related to that matter in Jakarta, Thursday (8/30) night.

The report of the alleged political dowry was initially conveyed by Frits Bramy Daniel (Deputy Chairperson of the United Federation of Indonesian Federation of NGOs) to Bawaslu on 14 August 2018.

The report was based on a number of comments from Deputy Chairperson of the Democratic Party Secretary General Andi Arief on his twitter account. Likewise with a number of statements in the media.

The report was followed up by Bawaslu after the results of the preliminary study stated that the report of the reporter fulfilled the formal and material requirements and then registered with the report Number 01 / LP / PP / RI / 00.00 / VIII / 2018 on August 16, 2018.

"In accordance with the procedures and mechanisms for handling violations, after registration, the Election Supervisory Body conducts an inspection by inviting the reported party and witnesses to be clarified to hear information about the reported incident," Abhan said.

However, Andi Arif's witness cannot be heard because he did not fulfill the invitation submitted by Bawaslu. The absence of these witnesses made the reported report not get clarity about the occurrence of money giving, he said. (Ant)
