Setya Novanto Denies Andi Narogong Appoints in Project ID-E

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - House Speaker Setya Novanto denied appointing Andi Narogong businessman as his confidant in procurement of electronic ID card (KTP-e).

"Someone called Andi this your guy and related to this e-ID card there is money flowing into you?" asked judge chairman Jhon Halasan Butarbutar at the Corruption Court (Corruption) Jakarta, Friday (3/11/2017)

"It is not true that noble, never and do not know," said Setya Novanto (Setya Novanto).

Setya Novanto witnessed for defendant Andi Agustinus alias Andi Narogong who was charged with profit 1.499 million US dollars and Rp1 billion in procurement project of KTP-e which totally harm the state finance worth Rp2, 3 trillion.

He was present after twice not attending the examination call as a witness on 9 and 20 October 2017.

"I only met Andi twice in mid-2009. At that time Andi came to 'Tbox Cafe', I happen to always be there.Then he introduced himself as a 'supplier' t-shirts and other tools related to pilpres," said Setnov as quoted by Antara.

However, after negotiating price and offer of goods, finally Setnov who was then served as Golkar Party Treasurer did not follow Andi's bid.

The second meeting is also still happening in Tbox Cafe, this time Andi offers T-shirts from China but because of difficulties in delivery then Setnov was canceled using Andi services to provide a t-shirt ahead of the presidential election.

"When your e-ID card is called the key to the budget?" Judge Jhon asked.

"Not true," Setnov replied.

"We are only confirmation because there is also in the indictment there is a term to deal with the budget e-ID card must be guarded there is no budget?" Judge Jhon asked.

"I do not think so," Setnov replied.

"Members of the House are not busy even hanging out in cafes?" asked judge member Ansyori Syaifuddin.

"That's at night, sir," Setnov replied.

"So did you meet at the Gran Melia hotel with Irman, Sugiharto and Dian?" Judge Jhon asked.

"I have never arrived at 6:00 am because at 6:00 am (hotel) is not open yet, it is not true I have a meeting there," said Setnov.

"Irman came to your office?" Judge Jhon asked.

"Never," Setnov replied.

"I am not in a position to point, but only confront this e-ID card that supposedly involves you, do you know the former Secretary General of Home Affairs Diah and notices to Diah that if Irman is asked whether you know or not answered do not know?" Judge Jhon asked.

"Never," Setnov replied.

"The moment your meeting with Diah happened at the inauguration of the BPK chairman?" Judge Jhon asked.

"It's not true because I do eat with some other officials, but I do not know anyone, and I do not know how to shake anyone," Setnov replied.

Whereas in the Andi Narogong indictment mentioned that there is a February 2010 in Gran Melia hotel happened between Andi, Director General Dukcapil Irman, Director PIAK Kemendagri Sugiharto, Secretary General of Ministry of Home Affairs Diah Angraeni and Setnov, in the meeting Setnov expressed his support in pembahsan KTP-e project budget.

As a follow up, Andi invited Irman to meet Setnov in the Setnov workroom on the 12th floor of the House of Representatives and Setnov promised to coordinate it. Next September-October 2011 at Senov's house on Jalan Wijaya Kebayoran, Andi with Quadra Solutions Director Anang S Sudihardjo and President Director of PT Sandipala Arthaputra Paulus Tannos met Setnov. Setnov instructed that the KTP-e project be continued.
