INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - Vice Chairman of the House of Representatives Fadli Zon said drug smuggling efforts of 5.6 million tons in just two weeks indicate Indonesia has become a huge international drug market.

"This condition is very alarming and can be called emergency of drugs," said Fadli Zon through a press release received in Jakarta on Saturday (24/2).

Fadli Zon said it was responding to the smuggling of a type of methamphetamine smuggling of 5.6 million tons in just about two weeks, ie 3 tons on Friday (23/2), 1.6 tons on Tuesday (20/2), and a ton on Friday (9/2).

According to Fadli Zon, although the attempts of drug smuggling were successfully thwarted by the security apparatus, the condition shows that Indonesia has become a huge international drug market.

"On the other hand, it can be called Indonesia being a drug emergency," he said.

The Gerindra Party politician is of the view that, in the fight against massive drug-drug intervention, it is fitting for the Police and other security forces to focus not only the smuggling of drugs, but how to kill the huge drug market in Indonesia.

Polri and other security apparatus, he said, is not enough just trying to turn off drug dealer efforts, but also turn off the drug market is very large.

Fadli Zon also urges parents, to be more careful about their children, their families, and their environment, from the possibility of becoming a drug consumer.

On that occasion, Fadli Zon also appealed to the Government to embrace religious organizations, youth, and utilize all educational institutions at all levels to undertake educational efforts, prevention, and overcoming the dangers of drugs.

"We must declare war on drugs, the war of the universe," he said.
