The TNI Commander is the Symbol of Indonesian Sovereignty

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - Secretary of the National Mandate Party Faction (F-PAN) MPR Saleh Partaonan Daulay argues General Gatot Nurmantyo in his capacity as TNI Commander is a symbol of defense and sovereignty of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI).

"The United States government certainly knows that General Gatot is not an ordinary official in the TNI, so the rejection of the TNI Commander's arrival should not be underestimated," said Saleh in Jakarta, Tuesday (24/10/2017)

Saleh then compared the treatment of the Indonesian government if any United States officials came. Whoever the official is always respected and well served.

The respect and good treatment is not only given by the government, but also all the people of Indonesia. Should, the same thing is also shown by the government and people of the United States. According to Saleh, it's the nature of friendship between two countries.

"It is uncomfortable that a TNI commander is denied a friendly country, let alone to meet the invitation of one of the state officials, and if General Gatot does not leave, it will not reduce anything on the Indonesian side," he said.

Previously, the TNI Commander was invited to attend the meeting of the armed forces chiefs of the terrorist organization or the "Chiefs of Defense Conference on Country Violent Extremist Organization" (VEOs) to be held on 23-24 October in Washington DC.

The invitation was submitted by United States Armed Forces Chief of Staff General Joseph Dunford.
